GUIDELINES FOR PROSPECTIVE BUYERS
Please make sure to read MALLET JAPAN'S CONDITIONS OF SALE before submitting your bids.
NO cancellation is accepted after the auction.

3:00 pm in TOKYO will be 2:00 am in NEW YORK, 7:00 am in LONDON and 8:00 am in PARIS.
              
WRITTEN BIDS:
If you wish to place a bid, please fill out the absentee bids form and send it back to us either by email or fax to +81 3 5635 1778 along with a photocopy of your passport, driver's license or credit card by 6:00 PM, June 7th (Japan Time) at the latest (No ID is necessary if you have already participated in the past).
Please note that we only accept bids in Japanese Yen. Please make sure to convert the currency when specifying your maximum bid price.

TELEPHONE BIDS:
To be qualified for telephone bids, the high estimate must be above 100,000 JPY provided that you are willing to bid within or above the estimate range. For those lots with the high estimate below 100,000 JPY, please kindly be asked to leave absentee bids instead.
To bid on those lots with the high estimate over 100,000 JPY by telephone, please fill out the telephone bids form and send it back to us either by email or fax along with your ID (a photocopy of your either passport, driver's license or credit card. No ID is necessary if you have already participated in the past). Please note that the phone lines are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis and must be arranged no later than June 6th.
Also please be advised that Mallet Japan assumes NO responsibility whatsoever for failure to execute a telephone bid for whatever reason. We also strongly recommend that you leave a backup absentee bid in case of missed phone call or any other errors/ troubles. If you would like us to bid on your behalf in case we were unable to reach you during the auction by phone, please indicate your backup bids on the form.

1) BUYER'S PREMIUM
There will be a buyer's premium which will be added to the final hammer price on a per-lot basis.
The buyer's premium is determined as follows;
When the hammer price is ...
Up to and including 1,000,000 JPY
-15.75% of the hammer price
Over 1,000,000 JPY
-15.75% of 1,000,000 JPY plus 10.50% of the amount above 1,000,000 JPY
2) PAYMENT/ DUE DATE
If your bids were successful, we will send you an invoice right after the auction by e-mail. (the hardcopy will also be sent by post.)
Please send the remittance via wire transfer to our bank account described below in Japanese yen by JUNE 18TH. (client responsible for wire transfer bank charges)

3) PACKING/ SHIPPING
As a service we can make packing/shipping arrangements for your purchases at your expense. Packing and insurance fees will be indicated on the invoice as optional. The packing fee will be approximately 12,000 to 30,000 JPY depending upon the dimensions and number of items purchased.
Please note, however, that shipping fee will NOT be included in the invoice.
If you have an account with FedEx, DHL, UPS or TNT Express, your purchase can be shipped on your account so that the shipping expenses will be billed directly to you. For further assistance with your shipping arrangements, please feel free to contact us prior to or after the auction. Shipping quote is available upon request. You are most welcome to send all the fees together with your purchase price. We will make arrangements upon receipt of your payment.
4) INSURANCE
Items are NOT covered by insurance and will be shipped at your risk.
If you wish to have your purchase insured, we can arrange it for you at your expense. The fee will be 0.32% of your purchase price (=hammer price plus buyer's premium) while the minimum fee is set at 3,000 JPY. If your purchase price were less than 937,500 JPY, the fee will be 3,000 JPY regardless of the actual purchase price.
Besides those expenses mentioned above, you will probably be asked to pay taxes/custom duties upon entry of the shipment into your county. It will be charged directly to you. To find out more about the details and further assistance, please contact your local customs office.
